Leicester City Council retains VINCI Park

VINCI Park has been appointed by Leicester City Council to manage the new contract to implement RTA 91 legislation from January 2007.

Securing this latest contract means VINCI Park is now in the eighth year of its relationship with the City, with the contract likely to extend this relationship to fifteen years.

VINCI Park's Commercial Director, Philip Herring, commented: “We are proud of our long-term partnership with Leicester City Council and hope to remain involved for many years to come.”

Besides car park enforcement and maintenance, VINCI Park also plays a key role in maintaining the high environmental standards that the City demands and its people expect. Rather than being a burden, the enhanced service has led to revenues being above expectation.

VINCI Park provides a range of environmental services to the City Council, for the benefit of the community as a whole. These include reporting abandoned vehicles, faulty street lighting, blocked drains, damaged street furniture, pavements or kerbs. VINCI Park also reports any vandalism, noise pollution, fly-tipping or suspicious behaviour, and has been instrumental in reducing car crime in the city. Further demonstration of VINCI Park’s environmental commitment, and support of the Council’s aims, is evidenced by its use of LPG-fuelled mopeds that have minimal CO2 emissions and help to minimise congestion.

VINCI Park is responsible for on- and off-street enforcement as well as the management of a multi-storey car park, including all maintenance, security and stationery. The company has a team of more than 30 staff at Leicester and is responsible for maintaining all pay and display machines, as well as issuing permits and reporting disabled badge abuse.
