Local authorities

“We are delighted with the contribution that VINCI Park continues to make in meeting the changing and unique challenges that traffic flow and congestion causes us in the City of London.”
Ian Hughes, Traffic Manager, City of London

“Bringing in an experienced operator made all the difference. VINCI Park worked with us to involve the local community and avoid the potential problems and pitfalls which could so easily have occurred.”
Richard Townend, Hull City Council

VINCI Park has worked extensively with local authorities to provide on-street and off-street parking enforcement. Our model is ‘firm but fair’; we pursue quality, not quantity, of penalty notices issued. Our robust operating template has proven successful time after time.

We know that as your representatives, our staff must fully understand their responsibilities and relate to members of the community in an exemplary manner. We invest heavily in staff training and have an accredited NVQ programme.

We recognise the difficulties faced when balancing public demand with political, legal and financial constraints – and so we take a flexible approach. If something goes wrong, we fix it, saving you stress and helping you to maintain a good reputation.

There can’t be a much busier location than the City of London, where VINCI Park has been tasked with helping to keep the traffic moving. Here, issuing Penalty Charge Notices is only a small part of our job. For City of London, VINCI Park has:
  • established foot patrols
  • instigated CCTV enforcement
  • developed a motor scooter and mountain bike rapid response team to deal with problems
  • appointed dedicated staff to deal with traffic disruption caused by building sites
  • trained our staff as volunteers to support the police with road closures in the event of a critical incident.

We recently helped Hull City Council adjust to the increased parking pressures caused by the new KC Stadium development and the introduction of seven new Controlled Parking Zones.

When the Council contracted VINCI Park to undertake all of its on and off-street parking enforcement, we recruited and trained new staff from the local community, and increased the support infrastructure. We adopted a ‘softly softly’ approach to begin with and held regular meetings with the Council to develop good co-ordination and a close working relationship. The scheme has made more parking available for city centre shoppers, helped businesses, and reduced illegal parking in residential areas.
